 On August 7, China Daily and the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee signed an international communication strategic cooperation agreement in Kunming. Qu Yingpu, president and editor-in-chief of China Daily, and Zeng Yan, member of the Standing Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and director of the Propaganda Department, attended the signing ceremony. Zhu Baoxia, editorial board member and secretary-general of China Daily, and Lai Yong, full-time deputy director of the Information Office of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, signed a cooperation agreement.

At the signing ceremony, the two parties stated that the strategic cooperation between China Daily and the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee is an important measure to jointly implement Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era and deepen thematic education.
