China’s trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) surpassed the 1‑trillion‑dollar mark for the first time in 2025, with bilateral trade reaching 1.05 trillion U.S. dollars, a 7.4 percent increase from the previous year, an official said on Tuesday.
China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years, while ASEAN has been China’s biggest trading partner for six successive years, Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong noted.
In the first seven months of 2026, total trade between China and ASEAN rose to 744.41 billion U.S. dollars, a 24.7 percent year‑on‑year increase, and represented 21.8 percent of China’s total foreign trade during that period.
