Beijing, Sept. 11 – China and India are arranging a meeting between President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the upcoming 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry said on Friday.
According to Mao Ning, the Chinese spokesperson, the meeting will be the third consecutive year in which the two leaders will hold a bilateral session, following their previous encounters in Kazan and Tianjin.
She added that China is ready to cooperate with India in following the strategic guidance of Xi and Modi, viewing bilateral relations from a strategic and long‑term perspective. The aim is to strengthen communication, expand cooperation, and properly handle differences, thereby fostering a good‑neighborly friendship and partnership that helps both sides succeed.
